The Schultz Group, Inc. (SGI), established in 1983, is a civil engineering and land survey firm locally based in New Braunfels, Texas. SGI has performed numerous street, drainage, and site development projects, as well as several hydrology and hydraulic studies in the City of New Braunfels and Comal County. SGI is a diverse firm having performed a multitude of surveying and engineering services for governmental agencies, municipalities, school districts, and private developers, as well as having served as a sub-consultant to larger engineering and architectural firms.

  • Boundary Surveys / ACSM/ALTA Surveys: 2000+ acres of land located on IH 35 north of New Braunfels for the General Land Office; Home Depot Call Center; Westshore Colony Apartments; Grand Cypress Apartments; Landmark Lofts & Garden Apartments (Old L.C.R.A. site); Cotton Crossing Apartments; and Simpson Racing Products; all located in New Braunfels, Texas.
  • Topographic Surveys: Oakwood Baptist Church; Manor Creek Residential Subdivision; Georg Ranch Subdivision; and the Overlay and Reconstruction of City of New Braunfels Streets Project Phase 1-06.

New Braunfels Civic Center
  • IH 35 - From Loop 337 to North of Walnut Avenue, New Braunfels, Texas for TxDOT, San Antonio Performed hydrologic and hydraulic analysis of drainage structures, culvert cross sections, wingwall/headwall modifications, coordinated utility conflicts with storm sewer system, construction documents, design grading for downstream channels.
  • Main Plaza Drainage Improvements, Capital Improvement Program - New Braunfels Performed surveys, obtained permits, prepared design plans, specifications, bid documents, construction phasing and plan of record documents for drainage improvements to the existing storm sewer system under Main Plaza with new drainage outfall down East San Antonio Street to the Comal River.
  • Gruene Road Improvement Project - New Braunfels Performed surveys, obtained permits, prepared design plans, specifications, bid documents and construction phasing for improvements to Gruene Road.
  • Phase 1-06 - Street Maintenance Projects - New Braunfels SGI provided engineering services from design through to the construction phase for several street rehabilitation projects. They included the paving of Union Avenue, Mather Street, and Fredericksburg Road. Concurrent with street rehabilitation SGI designed a new sewer trunk line in Union Avenue for New Braunfels Utilities.
  • SH 130 - Segment C (Guadalupe County) / Texas Turnpike Authority SGI worked with the TTA on the initial layout of the roadway and established the ground control layout and aerial panel locations for the mapping project. Established the secondary control on the mapping using RTK GPS. Supervised the research of property ownership data from Guadalupe County Appraisal District and placing this information on the aerial mapping database. Coordinated utility locations and placement of utilities on the aerial mapping database.
  • I.H. 35 Right of Way Maps, Comal and Guadalupe Counties / Texas Department of Transportation SGI was responsible for the development of right of way along I.H. 35 from F.M. 3009 in Guadalupe County to F.M. 306 in northern Comal County. Constructed the maps from the original patents to the current deeds. Supervised the property research and development of CADD drawings, performed computations, prepared legal descriptions and closures for each acquisition.
  • Guadalupe Power Plant , Marion, Texas SGI supervised the boundary survey on the pre-developed site, topographical mapping, utility easements, construction staking, and final as-built drawings. Responsible for all vertical and horizontal ground control on the 130-acre site.
  • New Braunfels Airport, New Braunfels, Texas SGI has worked on various projects at the New Braunfels Airport from 1986 through the present where SGI was a sub-consultant to Freese & Nichols, Inc., Bain, Medina, Bain, Inc. and Klotz Associates and as a prime consultant directly contracted with the City of New Braunfels. Supervised the boundary survey, topography and preparation of aerial easements for the Airport. SGI has also developed the cross sections from topographic mapping and analyzed drainage conveyance systems for widening runways, hangar locations and for parking on runways.
